MICHAEL CHANG, Almanac of Useless Talents <\/em>(Clash, September 2022)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you enjoyed MICHAEL CHANG\u2019s sensual epistolary poem<\/a> in Issue 8.2, their forthcoming book, Almanac of Useless Talents, <\/em>is a must read. Described by Clash as \u201cpart confessional, part experimental, and completely original,\u201d CHANG\u2019s decadent poems delve into a world of potent desire.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chen Chen, Your Emergency Contact Has Experienced an Emergency <\/em>(BOA, September 2022)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chen Chen\u2019s poem \u201cThe School of a Few or a Lot of My Favorite Things<\/a>,\u201d published in Issue 9.1, will also appear in his second poetry collection, Your Emergency Contact Has Experienced An Emergency<\/em>. Tracy K. Smith notes that in the book, Chen writes \u201cwith humor, deep intelligence, and what feels to me like a luminous everyday philosophy.\u201d An exploration of life as a queer Asian American in contemporary America, this book is one we are eagerly anticipating, and we hope you are too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jenna Le, Manatee Lagoon <\/em>(Acre, October 2022)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issue 7.2<\/a> contributor Jenna Le is releasing her third full-length collection, Manatee Lagoon, <\/em>which explores a Vietnamese cultural heritage in a politically fraught America. Matt W. Miller praises Le\u2019s creative use of form, remarking that \u201cwith a lyricism that is sometimes the night-light you want, sometimes the lightning you deserve, Le masterfully weaves poems out of inherited forms and meters that are at once surgically precise and organically necessary.\u201d We hope you\u2019re as excited as we are to pick up this book!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
