{"id":5213,"date":"2012-02-29T00:56:33","date_gmt":"2012-02-29T05:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/?p=5213"},"modified":"2012-02-29T00:56:33","modified_gmt":"2012-02-29T05:56:33","slug":"lr-news-issue-4-has-landed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/2012\/02\/29\/lr-news-issue-4-has-landed\/","title":{"rendered":"LR News: Issue 4 Has Landed!"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_5215\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5215\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/issue4\/index.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5215\" title=\"LANTERN REVIEW Issue 4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cover4_sm.jpg\" alt=\"LANTERN REVIEW Issue 4\" width=\"250\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cover4_sm.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/cover4_sm-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5215\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">LR Issue 4<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We are extremely pleased to announce\u2014at long last\u2014the release of <a title=\"Issue 4\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/issue4\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Issue 4 of <em>Lantern Review<\/em><\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Tipping the scales at a hefty 81 pages (if virtual pages could be weighed), this issue is\u2014we feel\u2014our best yet.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve done things slightly differently this time, updating the look of our cover and choosing to include at least three substantial excerpts of longer projects or series, as well as a new media piece by Margaret Rhee (for which we broke our &#8220;no scrolling&#8221; rule).\u00a0 We&#8217;ve also decided to intersperse a series of\u00a0 black-and-white images by a single artist (Darwin Cruz) amongst the poems to serve as a sort of &#8220;thread&#8221; that runs throughout the body of the text, and have chosen to incorporate not just poetry, but also photography, into our Community Voices feature on &#8220;Double Exposures: Documenting War at Home&#8221; (a youth writing workshop that was held at the AAWW last summer).<\/p>\n<p>Issue 4&#8217;s contributor list includes poets Neil Aitken, Bethany Carlson, Tarfia Faizullah, Janine Joseph, Monica Mody, Margaret Rhee, Purvi Shah, Sushil Sivaram, R.A.
