{"id":3273,"date":"2011-03-09T10:00:51","date_gmt":"2011-03-09T15:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lanternreview.com\/blog\/?p=3273"},"modified":"2011-03-11T20:38:35","modified_gmt":"2011-03-12T01:38:35","slug":"friends-neighbors-support-aalrs-81-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lanternreview.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/09\/friends-neighbors-support-aalrs-81-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Friends &#038; Neighbors: Help Fund AALR&#8217;s 8+1 Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our friends at the <em>Asian American Literary Review <\/em>have recently let us know about their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1062567747\/8-1-an-asian-american-literary-symposium\">Kickstarter fundraising campaign<\/a> in support of their 2011 8+1 Symposium.\u00a0 8+1, which is the sequel to last year&#8217;s 8: A Symposium, will take place at the LA Lit Festival on May 7th, and will once again feature another exciting panel of respected Asian American writers.\u00a0 This year&#8217;s lineup features:<\/p>\n<p>Joy Kogawa<br \/>\nR. Zamora Linmark<br \/>\nRishi Reddi<br \/>\nKip Fulbeck<br \/>\nReese Okyong  Kwon<br \/>\nHiromi It\u014d and translator Jeffrey Angles<br \/>\nRay Hsu<br \/>\nViet Nguyen<br \/>\nBrian Ascalon Roley<\/p>\n<p><em>AALR <\/em>is trying to raise $4000 by April 19th in order to help cover the cost of offering this unique literary experience.\u00a0 As with all Kickstarter projects, the organizers need to be able to raise the full amount in pledges in order to be funded, so we encourage you to consider contributing to 8+1 sooner rather than later.
