As we prepare to head into our late summer blog hiatus, we’re aware of the fact that several of our friends have recently put out new calls for submission.\u00a0 We thought we would put together a little list of interesting opportunities for submission that have recently come to our attention:<\/p>\n

The Asian American Literary Review<\/em><\/a> is calling for electronic submissions for its third issue, to be published in Spring 2011.\u00a0 Deadline is September 1st.\u00a0 See their online guidelines<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n

Cha: An Asian Literary Journal<\/a> <\/em>is calling both for regular submissions to be included in its 13th Issue<\/a>, and for submissions to its special themed 14th issue<\/a>, which will focus on China.\u00a0 Submissions are accepted electronically only. Deadline is December 15th for Issue 13, April 14th for the China Issue.\u00a0 Complete guidelines for Issue 13 here<\/a>; details about the China Issue here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kweli Journal<\/em><\/a>, a publication that focuses on promoting the work of writers of color, is calling for submissions to its Fall\/Winter 2010 issue.\u00a0 Submissions are to be sent by postal mail.\u00a0 Deadline is September 16th.\u00a0 Guidelines here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kartika Review<\/a> <\/em>is calling for submissions in anticipation of future issues.\u00a0 Kartika<\/em>, which has a rolling policy for screening work, <\/em>is now accepting submissions both via email and through its online submissions manager<\/a>.\u00a0 See their guidelines here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

BOXCAR Poetry Review<\/em><\/a> and Cerise Press<\/a>, <\/em>which are edited by Asian American poets Neil Aitken and Fiona Sze-Lorrain, respectively, also have rolling submissions policies: look for BOXCAR<\/em>‘s guidelines here<\/a>, and Cerise<\/em>‘s here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
